How to Pick Up and Conquer Past Goals

Picture it: You make a resolution right before the new year rolls around. You plan to go to the gym more, eat healthier, reconnect with friends or spend more time growing your business.

But then something happens. Maybe an injury sidelines you for a week or two, and you get too busy to go back to the gym. Or perhaps you reached out to a friend and when they responded, you never texted back. It happens. Life happens to every one of us.

Some people might consider not sticking to a resolution a failure. And sure, in some ways, it is — but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

“Failure is another steppingstone to greatness.”

Oprah Winfrey

This January, we want you to think about that and hit the refresh button on the things you didn’t follow through with or finish last year. Just because you stopped going to the gym in 2022 doesn’t mean the same thing will happen in 2023. Instead, use your past missteps as motivation to reach your goals.

First, set your goal. What do you want to accomplish this year? Do you want to lose weight? Do you want a fatter wallet? Whatever it is, we’re here for you. That’s why we’ll feature Brand Partners like YOU all month long who have helpful tips and tricks for hitting the refresh button on all aspects of life.

Once you’ve set your goal (or goals), it’s time to get to work! Keep the end goal in mind while you commit to smaller actions that build up to your goal. If you’re hoping to lose weight, start by taking a short walk every day. Then, once you’ve established your routine, build on it. If you want to reconnect with friends (or make new ones), set an alarm on your phone so you remember to message them or see if they’ve messaged back.

Those little actions may not seem like a lot in the beginning but trust us, they add up! In a few weeks, you’ll look back and see all you’ve accomplished, then set new and higher goals!

Be sure to follow us on Instagram and Facebook this month to see the inspirational stories of Brand Partners all around the world. And if you have your own resolution success story to share, tag @newageincglobal for your chance to be featured!
