Healthy Dinners by Steve “The Food Guy”

Recently, we had Steve “The Food Guy” Teglas as a host on our Tuesday night ARIIX Live. Steve shared with us some amazing recipes that only help with weight loss goals, instead of hindering them. Now we’re sharing some healthy dinner options that you can have and still stay on track for your goals — enjoy!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 ½  lb ground protein
  • 1 tsp. pink salt
  • Pinch oregano
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1 tsp. paprika
  • 1 egg beaten
  • ¾  cup ground oats
  • Chopped onion
  • 2 TBSPs Hunts no salt tomato sauce

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Mix together all the ingredients.
  3. Roll into 1 inch balls.
  4. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes.

Makes 36 meatballs

*This recipe can be doubled and you can freeze the cooked meatballs for various dishes*

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 pound turkey sausage
  • 6 cups coleslaw mix or shredded cabbage
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 2 tablespoon coconut aminos
  • ¼ cup chopped green onions
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the sausage and coconut oil stirring often to crumble, until cooked through. Do not drain.
  3. Add the coleslaw mix, garlic, ginger, and coconut aminos to the skillet with the sausage.
  4. Cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until cabbage has softened a bit.
  5. Remove from the heat and top with the green onions.

Servings: 4

INGREDIENTS:

  • 5 lb. lean ground beef
  • ½ head of cabbage, shredded
  • 1 cup celery, diced
  • 1 cup onion, diced
  • 1 cup carrots, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 2-3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 4 cups Chicken Broth
  • 1 can tomatoes, diced
  • 1 tsp. oregano
  • 1 tsp. red pepper flakes
  • 1 tsp. basil
  • ¼-½ tsp. Cayenne Pepper
  • Pink Salt
  • Black Pepper

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Cook ground beef until done and strain off liquid fat. Set aside.
  2. Heat 2-3 TBSPs coconut oil in large pot over medium heat.
  3. Add celery, onion, bell pepper and carrots. Sauté until tender.
  4. Stir in garlic.
  5. Add chicken broth, tomatoes and cabbage.
  6. Stir well and bring to a boil.
  7. Reduce heat and cook until cabbage is tender.
  8. Add cooked ground beef.
  9. Stir in oregano, red pepper flakes, basil, and cayenne pepper.
  10. Taste broth and add salt and black pepper to taste.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 T coconut oil
  • 1 sm. green pepper, finely chopped
  • 1 sm. sweet onion, finely chopped
  • 1 lb. lean hamburger
  • 2 cans navy beans, drained
  • 1 can black beans, drained
  • 1 can petite diced tomatoes
  • 1 can approved tomato sauce
  • 1 1/2 t. chili powder
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. onion powder
  • 1 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 ½ sea salt
  • 2 tsp. mustard
  • ½ vinegar
  • 3 T. sweetener

DIRECTIONS:

Sauté onions and peppers in oil until soft. Add hamburger and brown. Add all other ingredients and cook on medium heat until warm throughout.
